“What Matters to Me and Why” is a UCI speaker series that shares personal journeys, values, and motivations to strengthen community bonds.

Dr. Megan Nguyen is Health Sciences Clinical Professor and Founding Associate Dean of Pharmacy Student Affairs, Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Nguyen is an infectious diseases pharmacist, researcher, and educator. Through interprofessional collaborations, Dr. Nguyen has been instrumental in establishing and implementing new policies and procedures for pharmacist-driven protocols and identifying antimicrobial stewardship initiatives to optimize antimicrobial use. In the past decade, Dr. Nguyen’s scope of responsibilities and research have expanded towards academic administration, with a focus on applying evidence-based analytics to improve admissions processes. Dr. Nguyen is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating several necessary aspects that surround the upcoming PharmD program, including recruitment and admissions in accordance with ACPE and relevant higher education standards. She is also responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student affairs and services.
