Ye Olde Theatre Eaters presents William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar in the style of Mean Girls. This performance will be a 90-minute cut of the original play with no intermissions and will be put on in UCI's Nixon Theatre on Nov14th-16th.

Our goal at YOTE is to make theater more accessible to everyone on campus, so while the cast and crew is entirely made up of undergraduate students, many of them are from majors outside of the arts school. We also work to make Shakespeare more accessible to the average audience member, which is why the aesthetic of our production is inspired by Mean Girls and other 90s-2000s high school movies. In this way, audiences will be able to see characters/archetypes they are more familiar with reflected in these classic stories to help give context to the flowery language Shakespeare is known for which, save for minor changes to gendered words, we have kept mostly intact.
