Details

Al-Qasar is one of the most innovative and powerful groups in the contemporary rock and pop universe, their music a revolutionary hybrid of electronica, garage, Arab, Sahelian, Sufi and other styles, all powered by great rock n roll. On the rise globally and generating increasing buzz during their US tour now, the story behind the band and its members, coming together from multiple cultures to create a new genre of music - Arabian fuzz - in the midst of the resurgence of xenophobia and exclusivist nationalisms globally, recording music from Tunis to Lisbon, Los Angeles (where the band was first put together) to London and Paris, offers an inspiring alternative to reality around us. Al-Qasar is an irresistible example of the power of music to create solidarity and bring people together in ways that celebrate and build on our differences towards a common vision of the future.
