Authoring Disabled Life on Campus: The Ride Ahead Film Screening

So Samuel, twenty-one, put a camera on his wheelchair and went to ask the experts: disabled artists, activists, and elders who have been building their lives on their own terms for decades. The Ride Ahead, the Emmy-winning documentary he co-directed with his father, Dan Habib, is what he came back with.

Come watch it with us on Friday, October 9, at 4:00 PM, and mingle over food afterwards! Samuel authored his own story; after the film, meet the students, staff, and faculty authoring disabled life at UCI, and get to know two new arrivals on campus: the Disability Cultural Center and the Critical Disability Studies Certificate. Whether you're into disability justice, curious about campus community, or showing up as an ally, this afternoon is for you.
