About Us

Applied Investment Research Group (AIRG) aims to provide business-oriented UCI students with an accessible platform for investment strategy and portfolio management learning and quantitative research opportunities. In doing so, AIRG prepares students with relevant experiences for a career in the field of financial services, including asset/wealth management, hedge fund, investment banking, consulting, etc. The primary activities includes: 1. Conducting quantitative financial research on various types of investment vehicles, including stocks, bonds, options, etc. 2. Constructing & managing a research-based investment portfolio in a simulated trading environment. 3. Developing algorithmic trading strategies and backtesting.

Members Benefits

Admitted students will become intern analysts of AIRG and will receive access to all AIRG training materials. All analysts with return offers will receive access to all AIRG training and working materials until their departure from UCI. All current and past students on the board of executives and C-suites can permanently access all AIRG materials. All of this is preparation for future business jobs and learning about investment, but without any association with businesses at all.
