Beyond the Book Author Series: Hispanic Market Power with Isaac Mizrahi

Wednesday, November 1st, 12noon (PDT) on Zoom

ucidce.zoom.us

Please join us for the next “Beyond the Book” Author Series webinar with Isaac Mizrahi, author of Hispanic Market Power - America's Business Growth Engine and CEO of Alma Ad Agency, based in Miami, Florida.

Isaac will share his personal and professional journey as an immigrant from South America and how that inspires him to explore the thriving multicultural marketing landscape.  He will discuss the US Hispanic community's impact on business and culture today, how to adopt the right engagement models, and the significant shifts coming our way due to demographic trends and the outsize cultural influence of Latinos in American and global culture. A fun example of a commercial the Alma Ad Agency has produced: First Customer.

UCI School of Social Ecology Presents: Dia de los Muertos

Nov. 2, 2023, 4-8:30 p.m.

Irvine Barclay Theater, 4242 Campus Dr.

Join us as we honor our Latino community with Día de los Muertos. The majority of the School of Social Ecology’s students (46%) are Latino. In fact, our school has more Latino students than any other school on campus and together with presenting sponsor Northgate Gonzalez Market, event sponsor UCI Latinx Resource Center, and community partners UCI-OC Alliance, MEChA and Bilingual Teacher Student Association, we are proud to invite you to take part in this special cultural event.

Because Día de los Muertos is a time to remember those who have died, we encourage you to participate in our digital altar, where you can pay tribute to your deceased loved ones by submitting a photo and dedication.

A student-created physical altar will be the centerpiece of the event, which opens at 4 p.m. with an Aztec dance presentation and closes with a 7 p.m. concert by the two-time Grammy Award winning Mariachi Divas. In between, guests will be treated to performances by Ballet Folklorico de UCI and other musical entertainment as well as face-painting, sugar skull decorating and more.
