Active Minds at UCI mobilizes students to advocate for mental health and drive
positive change. We discuss mental health topics, promote access to campus helping services, and plan campus events. Active Minds is a national non-profit organization founded in 2001 by Alison Malmon, then a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, following the suicide of her older brother, Brian, one year earlier. Brian, also a college student, had been experiencing depression and psychosis for three years but had concealed his symptoms from everyone around him. It is a goal of Active Minds to de-stigmatize mental disorders. Active Minds is the only student organization working to utilize the student voice to change the conversation about mental health on college campuses. By developing and supporting chapters of a student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy group on campuses, the organization works to increase students' awareness of mental health issues, provide information and resources regarding mental health and mental illness, encourage students to seek help as soon as it is needed, and serve as liaison between students and the mental health community.

Alkalima aims to bring a better understanding of UC Irvine student related issues from a Muslim perspective in hopes of creating positive change on campus. The kind of magazine we aim to produce is unique not only in its content, but in its vision. We strive to shift from the stereotypical, apathetic, and insular college experience, and instead move towards gaining a deeper understanding of not only community and domestic issues, but also of international topics as well. By questioning societal norms and expectations, we make it Alkalima's goal to bring back serious intellectual dialogue about the critical issues that students find important, necessary, and impactful. Anteater Emergency Medical Services' (AEMS) mission includes providing standby Basic Life Support (BLS) medical care and lifesaving education to the campus community, as well as providing a path for its members to become licensed and competent health care providers (EMT-B), gain clinical patient care experience, and learn more about how EMS and Emergency Medicine systems function, as it is connected with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the UCI Medical Center. AEMS provides standby BLS medical services at a variety of on-campus events through California EMT-certified volunteers from the student population. In addition, AEMS comprises student members who plan to become or are currently completing coursework to become an active EMT volunteer for the organization. AEMS has taught more than 1000 students, staff, and other community members how to control life-threatening bleeding through the nationally accredited Stop the Bleed campaign, which includes tourniquet application and wound packing. AEMS has joined more than 250 colleges nationwide with collegiate EMS organizations.

The mission of the Anteater Moot Court Association has two parts to encompass both academic and community-building.

First, the Anteater Moot Court works to introduce its members to legal analysis and writing through mock appellate briefs as well as oral argument presentation, building critical thinking, persuasive writing, public speaking, and advocacy skills invaluable to the legal world and beyond.

We hope to empower students and build confidence in becoming a resource to others dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts. UC Irvine's Anteaters Give Back campaign is the new student philanthropy initiative on our campus. It is run by the Student Philanthropy Committee in collaboration with the Office of Annual Giving. Every year, we create the opportunity for our Anteater community to support a new fund chosen by students, for students. Historically, this effort has been known as the senior class gift – if you've seen those iconic bronze anteaters around campus, those were all gifted by former classes of UCI grads! The new AGB campaign is not to limited to seniors alone, but open to all UC Irvine students who want to give back! In 2025, we raised $$$ for a new golf cart for the Basic Needs Center, which feeds 5000+ students every year. During the 2025-26 academic year, we raised nearly $20,000 for student scholarships to help reduce the financial barriers to higher education. And with many student-serving centers on campus facing funding cuts in the 2026-27 year due to the recent referendum vote, it's crucial now more than ever to support our fellow Anteaters! This organization was formed to express members' interest in baking, develop baking skills and utilize organization members' talents to make various baked goods for underserved youth in our community. This group is meant to give every and all UCI students interested in baking an outlet to meet with like-minded people and learn from each other on how to be better bakers, while simultaneously serving the community.

Over the course of the school year we will complete a number of community service projects, primarily through the network of For Goodness Cakes, a non-profit organization where volunteers bake various desserts to celebrate special occasions for youth living in foster care, homeless shelters, and other alternative living agencies. It is through these projects, as well as meetings and other club functions, that members will serve their community, improve their baking skills, and foster a network of peers similar to them.

Our community garden is a place where people who enjoy gardening come together to work the soil and share their knowledge and experience with other gardeners. Our gardeners include UCI students, faculty, staff, and members from the community. Originally established in 1985, the garden has been located near three different UCI student housing complexes, most recently Arroyo Vista Housing. In June 2008 the garden was relocated to a new site next to Palo Verde Graduate Student Housing. The club name was changed to Anthill Village Community Garden.

The purpose of this organization is to oversee the use and management of the land assigned
to the Anthill Village Community Garden by the University.

The Ants in Your Plants Garden is a student led garden in Arroyo Vista Housing. We are a group of dedicated students who love being outdoors and seeing the wonderful plants and organisms that thrive in the garden. The primary mission of the garden is to provide UCI students an opportunity to learn about food systems through volunteering and workshops. It’s a student effort to fight food insecurity on campus and promote sustainable practices. In addition to educational and recreational uses, the garden grows produce to be donated to the FRESH Pantry at the UCI Basic Needs Center.

The Garden is supported in collaboration by ASUCI Garden Commission (IVP), UCI Housing, UCI Sustainability Resource Center (SRC), and the UCI Basic Needs Center.

Applied Investment Research Group (AIRG) aims to provide business-oriented UCI students with an accessible platform for investment strategy and portfolio management learning and quantitative research opportunities. In doing so, AIRG prepares students with relevant experiences for a career in the field of financial services, including asset/wealth management, hedge fund, investment banking, consulting, etc. The primary activities includes: 1. Conducting quantitative financial research on various types of investment vehicles, including stocks, bonds, options, etc. 2. Constructing & managing a research-based investment portfolio in a simulated trading environment. 3. Developing algorithmic trading strategies and backtesting.

Archery Club at UCI is a recreational and competitive club sport that competes in barebow, bowhunter, compound, and recurve divisions. The club competes on both regional and national levels and has never failed to put at least one athlete on the podium in every competition since its establishment in 2006. All prospective teammates, experienced or not, are more than welcome to join every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in the Back Court Gym of the Anteater Recreation Center (ARC). We serve 400 student-athletes in 18 varsity sports. B-Boys Anonymous was founded in 1999 by Mark Kamimoto as an open practice environment for freestyle dancers on campus. Originally known as the Breakdance Club at UC Irvine, BBA allows students with common interests in dance to express themselves through music and movement. The club's focus is to promote the love and knowledge of all forms of freestyle dance. Today, BBA currently serves as UC Irvine's premiere freestyle dance club that is also heavily involved in the Irvine Dance Community (IDC) with the annual hosting of events such as All IDC and the Spring Quarter Dance Festival, as well as quarterly battles. Through all of the development and growth that BBA has experienced since its founding, the club's initial focus remains. The purpose of BLSA is to utilize the collective resources of the member chapters to: - articulate and promote the educational, professional, political, and social needs and goals of Black law students; - foster and encourage professional competence; - improve the relationship between Black law students, Black attorneys, and the American legal structure; - instill in the Black attorney and law student a greater awareness and commitment to the needs of the Black community; - influence the legal community by bringing about meaningful legal and political change that addresses the needs and concerns of the Black community; - adopt and implement policies of economic independence; - encourage Black law students to pursue careers in the judiciary; and - do all things necessary and appropriate to accomplish these purposes.

It is the mission of the Black Student Union to create and promote a supportive and inclusive community, while also intellectually challenging the Black students on the campus of UC Irvine. This organization, established specifically for political reasons, works for a more humane and culturally relevant college experience for the students on this campus. The more work and effort you put into the hands-on experience, the more you will get out of it. BCEC is designed to help students explore and prepare for careers in the entertainment industry.
