Beall Student Design Competition at The Henry Samueli School of Engineering
Offered to encourage the creation of new technologies, or solutions to current design problems that have the potential for commercialization. Ideas and products are evaluated on their technological merits as well as potential to impact the marketplace. Students are encouraged to submit new product ideas that involve the development of hardware and devices. Products that entail integration are acceptable as long as there is a substantial development effort.

The competition is open to all UCI students. Teams must be composed of at least two (2) students, one (1) of which must be enrolled at The Henry Samueli School of Engineering.

Butterworth Product Development Competition at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences
Is a product development competition designed to encourage the creation of new technologies with potential for commercialization. IEEE at UCI is a premier engineering club working at the intersection of electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science. We provide a place for those who are interested in both hardware and software to consistently meet and develop their skills and passions with others. There are three ways we do this: The first is our lab and community room at ICS 225, and it is open every day. The second is the OPS Program (Open Project Space), a year-long extracurricular program designed to teach programming and embedded electronics to eager and willing students, supporting them every step of the way.

UC Irvine's Public Health Informatics & Technology (PHIT) Workforce Development Program is recruiting and training the next generation of diverse public health professionals in informatics and technology skills to advance public health.

The UCI PHIT program is a partnership between UCI and the Orange County Health Care Agency and the Oregon Community Health Information Network. The objectives are to (1) teach informatics and technology skills to public health undergraduate and graduate students as well as working professionals, (2) attract students from science, engineering, and other relevant disciplines to join the public health workforce, and (3) recruit and support the success of underrepresented minority students. The UCI PHIT program offers multiple undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education degrees and certificates in health informatics and technology. The PHIT Program also offers a Paid Summer Internship Program to eligible undergraduate and graduate students.

The student-led Steel Bridge at UCI project forms part of an inter-collegiate competition, hosted by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), that challenges students to design, fabricate, and construct a model steel bridge. This technical project serves as a way for civil engineering students to demonstrate their critical thinking skills, work collaboratively with others, and implement their engineering knowledge to achieve a common goal of completing a large scale bridge. By utilizing basic tools that range from angled grinders to CAD to building techniques and methods, the Steel Bridge at UCI team aims to provide students with hands-on engineering experience that supplements the technical lessons learned from university to help them develop into professional engineers.

Our goal is to help students design, manufacture, and launch their own L1 rockets, enabling them to receive certification.
