Mohsen Namjoo is a singer, songwriter, music scholar, and master of the setar—a traditional Persian lute—currently based in New York City. He has been featured in major international media outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, and the Los Angeles Times. Widely regarded as a visionary voice for Iranian youth, Namjoo seamlessly fuses classical Persian music and scales with electric guitar, blending rock and blues vocal techniques with traditional Persian Avaz (singing). His distinctive vocal style and effortless synthesis of Eastern and Western musical traditions have made him an iconic figure in contemporary world music.
