2Ls: Nuts & Bolts of Applying for Judicial Clerkships

Learn the logistics of applying for post-graduate clerkships, including OSCAR (the Online System for Federal Clerkship Application and Review), researching judges, crafting your cover letter, requesting letters of recommendation, and choosing a writing sample. We will also cover judge preferences and the timeline for applying.

Note: 2Ls will have access to create accounts on OSCAR beginning on January 20, 2026. However, applications created on OSCAR will not be released to judges until June 8, 2026.
