We’ll explore powerful examples like ribbon braids and discussions on how fashion shapes social and political narratives. Come share your perspective, and gain a deeper understanding of how style can be a tool for change.

Tomo no Kai and BSU present exploring the historical and cultural connections and histories between Black and Japanese American communities. Through a short informative presentation, some trivia, some icebreakers, and a sharing of food, Participants will learn about shared histories such as post World War II community shifts and mixing of cultures, sister city relationships like Fukuoka and Oakland, and how our cultures are still influencing each other today

Join PUSO & MSU for a discussion on Healthcare Disparities within Filipino and Muslim communities in the United States and internationally. Through a presentation and poster activity, learn about systemic barriers and experiences these communities face. Snacks will be provided!

Join SASA & HANSORI for an evening to explore how artistic traditions serve as means of expression, community building, and heritage preservation across Asian communities. Participate in a textile activity in which each participant contributes to a collective community quilt, and a hands-on drumming lesson using traditional instruments.
