Upcoming Events
4:00 PM – 5:15 PM
We will explore current issues surrounding bodily autonomy and how it connects to healthcare, consent, reproductive rights, and individual decision-making. Together, we will reflect on misconceptions surrounding reproductive healthcare, explore real-life situations involving autonomy, and examine the external influences and factors (laws, policies and social systems) that shape it.
5:30 PM – 6:45 PM
Students will explore how UCI experiences and exudes Inclusivity; holding space to see how real data compares to personal experiences. We will give space for students to voice their exposure to different forms of inclusivity throughout their time on campus. We will then put words to actions and find equitable, tangible solutions to these very real challenges in order to uphold UCI’s commitment to a vibrant and inclusive campus environment where students are empowered to take ownership of their education and personal growth.
Past Events
5:30 PM – 6:45 PM
In this RealTalk, we will explore state-sanctioned violence, particularly the role of police presence and the use of excessive force on campuses and within our communities. Our discussion will center on instances of police brutality against protesters, while also aiming to educate participants about their rights when engaging in protest activities.
5:30 PM – 6:45 PM
Participants will explore how immigration in California has been portrayed in the media from the 1920s to the present. Together, we will examine how language, media narratives, and discriminatory practices have shaped public perception. We will also highlight how community-led organizations have emerged and evolved in response to—and in resistance against—immigration enforcement.
