Subject: NSSLHA Week 3 Meeting Recap 🎁

Dear NSSLHA Members,

Muchas gracias to everyone who attended our special meeting and donated to our toy drive last Wednesday <3. In total we donated $228 worth of sensory toys 🤑. It was so much fun getting to see and play with all the fun sensory toys, then wrapping them up to be sent off to the LA Speech and Language Therapy Center. That aside, we also announced the 2025 E-board applications, along with opportunities for points toward honor cords. If you couldn't make it please see the meetings slides below:

Visiting The LA Speech & Language Therapy Center

Yesterday Prez got to visit and get a tour of the LA Speech & Language Therapy Center. During her visit, she met the coordinator, Jaime Lopez Alvarez, and the director, Nadhiya Ito, MA, CCC-SLP, who was once a Board member of the API Caucus of ASHA!

You also have the opportunity to meet her by signing up to volunteer on April 26th at 3600 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016. (30 point opportunity, track yours here.)

Next Meeting, 4/23... UCI Alumni Grad School Q&A

We'll have a UCI alum join us to discuss her experience in graduate school, transitioning from a non-CSD program directly to a 2-year CSD program. See, you don't need to do a post bacc. This is your chance to ask about her experience as an out-of-field candidate and what it was like adjusting to a CSD program. The meeting will be hybrid; the same place, time, and Zoom link will be used as always.
