About Us

Our mission at Pro-Health Journal Club is to create a community that serves students in different fields of STEM through their mutual interest in healthcare and research. We aim to help guide students in their efforts to comprehend and discuss scientific journals through academic discourse, collaboration and presentations. Students will develop scientific literacy and communication skills necessary to succeed in professional/graduate schools. Members have the ability to become mentors themselves through our outreach program, in which we conduct research workshops for students in high school and community colleges.

Membership Benefits

All UCI students who are interested in learning about at least one of the four different areas of healthcare are encouraged to join. Pro-Health Journal Club (PHJC) will demonstrate the interconnectedness of the different healthcare fields and guide its students to become informed and educated members of society who seek evidence-based knowledge.

Membership will provide strong knowledge in advanced health-related topics, such as learning how to navigate research and how to read scientific journals, which will prepare students for upper division courses and potential research labs.
