About:
Join us as we dive into the escalating fight over free speech in Europe and the United States, spotlighting how governments, media, and institutions use labels like “Islamophobia” to police public debate and discourage open discussion about extremism, security, and cultural conflict. Robert draws on high-profile European cases, from prosecutions under hate speech laws to public figures losing careers for controversial statements. The event examines how fear of social or legal punishment shapes what people are willing to say out loud.
Location/Time
The event will be on May 14, 2026 from 6:00pm to 7:15pm. It will be located at the Crystal Cove Auditorium (student center, UCI)
